We are committed to ensuring that our members have the latest innovations in processing bank payments. Soon there will be a faster, simpler way to pay people and receive money through your Defence Bank Online Banking and Mobile Banking App.

New Payments Platform (NPP)

As part of our partnership with Cuscal, Defence Bank will be introducing a new platform to make payments easier and faster.

The New Payments Platform (NPP) is being collaboratively developed by NPP Australia Limited and 13 financial institutions. This infrastructure will enable real-time clearing and settlement for payments.

It will enable faster payments and you'll be able to use 280 characters of text to describe who is getting paid and why.

Osko by BPAY

Osko® by BPAYTM is a new way to make and receive payments that is faster than ever before. You'll be able to transfer money to other financial institutions, pay family, friends and businesses right away. The future of making payments in real time in Australia is coming.

Osko is a new way to pay with your Defence Bank Online Banking or your Mobile Banking App which is as fast as cash – without the hassle. Whether you’re paying a tradie, splitting a bill at dinner or giving money to a family member for something urgent, the money will be there in minutes not days. Osko is backed by BPAY and Defence Bank, so you know your payment will be secure. The payments are faster, with no more waiting for your payment or transfer to hit the account. It's available 24/7, so you can pay people at a time that suits you.

Introducing PayID

Do you forget your BSB or account number? With PayID you can pay, or get paid with something as simple as a registered mobile number or email address - it’s that easy! Soon, you will be able to register your own PayID with Defence Bank by selecting something that's easy for you to remember, like your mobile number, your email address or even your ABN. Then when someone needs to pay you, you can simply and safely give them your PayID instead of your BSB and account number - Simple!

When you use someone else’s PayID, you’ll see the account details of the payee before you send the payment. This saves you the worry about sending the money to the wrong account. However, if you want to, you will still be able to use BSB and account numbers and make the payment in real time.

What's next

Right now you don’t need to do anything, Osko and PayID will be here soon, stay tuned to our website for news updates.
